For the past few Wednesdays the guys joined a group of high school students with special needs to play netball and work on the sport’s basics of passing and shooting. Netball is similar to basketball, except that there is no backboard, you can only pass (no dribbling or moving when you have the ball), and certain positions are only allowed to go certain places on the court. The guys had an awesome time with the students and I couldn’t really tell who was having more fun. Though working with these students can sometimes be a bit of a challenge, the guys handled themselves really well and I was very impressed. After our last session with the students they even hung around a bit after to try their own game of netball. I won’t describe the game in detail, but I will say it’s a good thing they all row.
