Sparks Summer Rowing Camp – Middletown, CT – Wesleyan – Day 4

Our final full day at Wesleyan started out strong. Athletes met with their coaches and began fine tuning the line ups to set up Saturday’s racing. After the morning’s row, we were able to hand out Sparks shirts to the athletes and take a team picture.

Following lunch, athletes met with individual coaches again for their one-on-one sessions to talk about recruiting, training, and rowing technique. For the final practice of the afternoon, athletes ran their own dynamic warm ups. The final practice was used to get athletes ready for the next day’s racing. Crews were allowed to put together their own race plans.

After dinner, athletes had the option to attend 1 of 2 lectures – “Relaxation: How to relax for racing and training” taught by Coach Caroline King and “2k Race Strategy and Training Components” taught by Coach Patrick Rufo.

Athletes had a little free time before turning in to prepare for tomorrow’s racing pieces.

Athletes will arrive at the Boathouse around 9:45 am. Racing should begin between 10:00 am and 10:30 am.

Parents are welcome to come and watch!

Overall this has been a great group to work with and they have been very focused and easy to work with.
