Weight Training, Physical and Mental

In addition to their on the water training, the rowers also visit the Dunedin High Performance Centre (HPC) to meet with one of the trainers who works with elite athletes, specifically University of Otago rowers aiming to be on the national team. The meetings include practical trainings in the gym as well as the basics of why weights are important and the best ways to maximize this training. Today, the rowers had their first classroom session with the trainer and learned the theoretical side of lifting. Later this week they will return to put these theories into practice on the floor.
