A great way to learn how to row.
Young athletes anxious to get out on White Rock Lake and learn about the great team sport of rowing should sign up for any of White Rock's Learn to Row Summer Camps. There are camps for either Middle School or High School (and one for both) athletes throughout the summer that will give new rowers a taste of life on the lake and in a shell. The camps run from Monday to Friday 8am to 12pm and will conclude with a demonstration of acquired skill on the last day (aka – a short rowing race).
Camps will be taught by some of both Dallas area and White Rock's top coaches (including 2 World Championship medalists). They will include at least one rowing session at 8am with another, shorter, session in the afternoon (weather permitting). Otherwise camp instructors will give talks on rowing experiences, racing strategy, training philosophies, proper nutrition and/or more or show instructional video on rowing.
All campers will receive breakfast from Monday to Friday and lunch post race on Friday and a White Rock T shirt and water bottle.
