Reporting from the Sparks New Zealand Development Program

“Great rowing and improvement from all rowers on the trip to Twizel, New Zealand.” - Malcolm McIntyre

Report from Coach McIntyre:

"After spending three and a half days of very satisfying rowing in Invercargill, the group connected with Johnnie Wilson, who farms in Clinton New Zealand. Wilson gave the group a guided tour of his 7,000 acre, 14 km long farm, where he raises 12,500 sheep.  We all had a taste of the root crop that is fed to the sheep :) The athletes watched the dogs working the sheep - leaving them baffled at the dogs’ skills.  The highlight was later that afternoon, when Wilson allowed the rowers play with a very large tractor, used on the farm for agricultural work."

The athletes have a final erg test and then back to the States.  Check out all camp pictures on Sparks Instagram and Facebook!
